The pup behind the pup.
Kai is based on a real Australian Shepherd puppy with the same merle coat, the same blue eyes, and the same habit of running at everything at full speed. The books began with him.
This is Kai.
A red merle pup with sky-blue eyes, a white bib, and ears that flop and perk with every feeling.
He runs at the world with his tail up.
Kai is curious, friendly, optimistic, adventurous, compassionate, and loyal. He loves trying new things, believes in others, never quits, and finds joy in learning.
He also gets nervous sometimes, makes mistakes, can be impatient, and occasionally doubts himself. Those wobbles are exactly where the stories grow.
